Gothic Line Miniatures

Produces an Infantry squad with a range of supports include MMG, Mortar, sniper, and FAO. Interestingly their command pack also includes a figure of Ion Antonescu, the Wartime Romanian leader. In addition they also produce two Romanian ‘head’ packs, one of berets for mountain troops and one of woollen hats for winter troops. This allows a lot of variety by doing head swaps with their, and other, ranges.

Eureka Miniatures

Eureka Miniatures successfully crowd funded a range of Chinese figures which are expected to be released in Sep 2021. The range will be relatively extensive and include support weapons and crews. The figures will be sculpted in 'nationalist' style uniforms, but the same uniform was also used widely by communists and collaborationists.

Early war Nationalist troops were trained and largely equipped by Germany, as such late war WWI German miniatures are often used for these troops. Options include Wargames Atlantic's plastic figures box and Great War Miniatures metals from North Star.

Mad Bob does not produce any Chinese figures, but he does produce the most beautiful Zaamurets armoured train which was taken into China by fleeing 'white' Russian forces and later used by the Chinese Warlord Zhang Zoulin and the Japanese backed Kwantung Army

Bohemian Troops

Czechoslovakia was partitioned by German before the official outbreak of war, but their capture uniforms and equipment were later distributed to German allies including the fascists Slovak and Croatian client states. Bohemian minute has a small range of 5 figures that can be used represent these alternative Axis forces.

Tiger Miniatures produce a Balkans War range that includes several packs of Greek infantry and Cavalry, including Evzone in traditional dress (think white puffy shirts). Given that the Greek army continued to use the 1908 pattern uniform up to WW2 these should be usable – at least as reserves.

Studio Historia produces an extensive range of 3d printed Greek figures, support weapons, and guns both in general uniforms and winter uniforms (with armour on the way). Studio Historia does not have a website and operates via fakebook and an eBay store.

Warlord Games

Given WW2 in Europe kicked-off in Poland, it is not surprising that Warlord does a solid range of early war Poles, including a good range of support units and vehicles, and – most importantly – cavalry with lances (which we all know is the main reason people take Polish). In addition to these EW figures Warlord also produces a comprehensive range of LW Polish paratroopers and decals for Polish armour.

Gorgon makes several infantry packs for the Polish 10th Motorised Brigade or ‘Black Brigade'. This was an elite force, distinguished by the fact they wore black leather coats.

Kromlech Historical

Kromlech are perhaps better known as alt-40K producers, but they are a Polish Company and recently they started releasing EW WW2 Polish minis.  Their releases have been very aggressive and they now have quite an extensive range of infantry, support units and vehicles, including cavalry and Black Brigade figures.

Adalen Miniatures

Sweden remained neutral throughout WW2, but they were also prepared to fight and offer a perfect ‘what if’ force. There is a Swedish range available from Adalen Miniature via Historifigs which has a number of infantry options with different headgear (including tricorne hats!) plus MMG and mortar support. Aside from some unique infantry the Swedes also developed a distinctive range of armoured vehicles, many of which are now available as 3D files.
