Rolling into V3

The latest weekly V3 preview from Warlord covered the topic of vehicles, and we are going to see a number of interesting change in V3:


  • Damage will now come in two flavours depending on whether you cause superficial damage or penetration! This may make result clearer, but the superficial damage table seems to have a lot of conditions which will need to be tracked. in addition there is no more rolling on damage table for soft skins. They will just die on a 6+ for damage (back to V1).

  • Transports - Soft skins still 'disappear' if they end the turn closer to the enemy, but armoured transports will now get to take a moral check to see if they stick around.

  • Points Costs - Cost for heavy armour and turretless armour (such as STUGs) will go down - with Warlord showing the Tiger II getting a 21% reduction, Cost for some 'OP' light armour will also go up.


These all sound like pretty reasonable ideas, but as always, we wont know until we see the final point and special rules.
